What is Coaching?
Coaching is the support of a person (the coachee) in order to develop his/her potential or to overcome a difficult situation.
The ICF (International Coach Federation) defines coaching as "partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential".
The coachee will be aware of his/her behaviour patterns and will analyse them in order to find his/her own way. The aim of a coaching is to allow the person to achieve obbjectives defined in the beginning of the coaching. The overall objective is to lead the coachee to autonomy.
I suggest choices in order to facilitate the thinking and development process. However, giving advice is normally not part of coaching but can be asked. Coaching is also not psychotherapy.
How does it work?
Coaching is a conversation which is mainly determined by you. Together, we will define your objectives and the frame of the coaching. I will ask you questions to facilitate your search to find your answers. According to the situation we will do personality tests or role plays, and I may provide you with feedback. My sessions are based on both transactional analysis as well as neuro lingustic programming.
Coaching is limited in time with six to ten sessions on average. One session lasts between one or two hours according to your needs. In general between one session and the next will be a break of one week up to some months. You may also have to do some homework because coaching leads to action.
